Buddhist Learning For All

Buddhist Learning For All is an educational digital library dedicated to making the foundational texts, philosophies, and contemplative practices of Buddhism accessible, structured, and practical for modern life.

Why There Is No Author Bio

In the modern digital landscape, information is often tied to a personal brand. Websites commonly rely on author biographies, credentials, and individual personas to establish authority and build an audience.

This project intentionally takes a different approach, inspired by the core Buddhist teaching of anattā (not-self) and by the wish to keep the focus on the Dhamma rather than on the individual who has assembled and curated this resource.

Anattā points to the reality that no fixed, independent, or sovereign self can be found behind our experiences. While this teaching does not require anonymity, it encourages us to loosen attachment to personal identity and to remember that the Dhamma does not belong to any individual. These teachings are not original inventions but timeless insights into the nature of reality that have been preserved, practised, and transmitted for more than two and a half millennia.

For that reason, this project does not place an author’s biography, photograph, or personal story at its centre. The intention is not to deny conventional identity, but to avoid making an individual the primary focus. Instead, the emphasis remains where it belongs: on the teachings themselves and on each reader’s direct understanding and practice.

Where the Authority Lies

Because this project does not rely on a single teacher or personal brand, trust is built through transparency, careful sourcing, and fidelity to established Buddhist traditions. The authority of this site rests on:

  • The Original Texts: Concepts are grounded in the Pāli Canon and foundational Mahāyāna sūtras wherever appropriate.
  • Respected Translators and Scholars: We rely on the careful work of respected monastic and academic translators, including Bhikkhu Bodhi and Ṭhānissaro Bhikkhu, together with other recognised sources, to support doctrinal accuracy.
  • Transparent Methodology: We use structured AI-assisted drafting to help organise and synthesise complex historical and philosophical material. Every article undergoes thorough human editorial review to ensure accuracy, clarity, and fidelity to Buddhist teachings. (See our full AI-Assisted Content Creation Process.)

The Goal

This site is neither a personal blog nor the platform of a new teacher. It is intended to be a practical educational resource.

In the Alagaddūpama Sutta, the Buddha compares his teachings to a raft used to cross a flood. The raft is a means to reach the further shore, not something to be clung to once its purpose has been fulfilled.

In the same spirit, Buddhist Learning For All aims to be a well-organised and accessible raft for anyone seeking to understand Buddhist traditions. If it helps readers deepen their understanding, cultivate wisdom and compassion, and apply the Dhamma in their own lives, then the identity of the person who helped build the raft is of secondary importance to the teachings themselves.
